The Primary Engineer and S&H Group Schools Partnership
Primary Engineer is pleased to be working with S&H Group in the provision of selected programmes to schools participating in the S&H Group School LED Lighting initiative. This will give schools full access, at no cost, to appropriate Primary Engineer programmes (either at primary or secondary school level).
Primary Engineer is a not-for-profit organisation, operating nationally, focused on raising young people’s awareness of and aspiration towards STEM careers – specifically engineering. Primary Engineer operates a range of CPD courses for Early Years, Primary & Secondary teaching professionals, giving them the skills, resources and confidence to carry out a STEM project with a whole class of children. This delivery method ensures that our projects are inclusive, meaningful and sustainable.
Secondary Schools will have free access to the following programmes (alternatives may be available for schools which are already undertaking these):
- Fluid Power Challenge
- Aeronautical Enterprise Challenge
- Secondary Engineer Leaders Award
- Institution of Secondary Engineers
Primary Schools will have free access to the following programmes (alternatives may be available for schools that are already undertaking these):
- Structures, Mechanisms and Basic Electrics (SME1 or SME2 as appropriate)
- Programming & Electronics (or Games Design)
- Primary Engineer Leaders Award
- Institution of Primary Engineers
This will include staff training, linking the school with a ‘real’ engineer, invitation to participate in Regional Celebration events and Final competitions, access to our VLE, and all the equipment
ActivityWorks and S&H Group Schools Partnership
ActivityWorks is pleased to be working with S&H Group in the provision of selected Squash/sports programmes to schools participating in the S&H Group School LED Lighting initiative. This will give schools full access, at no cost, to appropriate Activity Works programmes (either at primary, secondary or college level).
Activity Works is a non-for-profit organization focused on raising young people’s awareness of the benefits of physical well-being and opportunities to learn new sports skills.
All schools will have free access to Activity Works Squash and Squash 57 (Racquetball) programmes. The programme will cover all aspects of Squash and Squash 57 from practice to rules and match play. This can include appropriate staff training and linking to the nearest Squash Club/Sports Centre. This will also include an invitation to participate in a local celebration event with other schools. All equipment, coaching and courts will be at no charge to the school.
S&H Group have generously offered to fund this programme for all participating schools. The packages described above would typically cost schools approximately £1,000.
